My name is Ashley McCauley, and I’m a traveling writer.

I started writing as a teenager and have been crafting stories with kickass heroines, burning romance, and compelling action ever since. Romance and thrillers are great on their own, but together? Yes, please.

My travels began around the same time, and I will use my experiences in different countries to gather inspiration for my books. Plus, it’s a great excuse to keep planning trips. I’m going to Europe for research purposes only, I swear!

For example, my debut novel, OCEAN OF LIES, is set on a fake Caribbean resort that was inspired by my own travels to the U.S. Virgin Islands. It released on January 9, 2024 and features an undercover mission, slow-burn romance, dual POV, and a twist my beta readers didn’t see coming.
